I was born in Galveston, Texas and grew up in Katy, Texas. From a series of fortunate events, I discovered my interest in law. The summer before college, an attorney relocated to Katy and needed assistance moving so I volunteered to help her. When we finished she offered me an internship because she appreciated my work ethic. I accepted her offer, thinking it could help me in the future with work experience, but I never imagined the life changing impact this internship would have on me.
Before this opportunity I never thought about pursuing a career in law, but I became passionate about it because every aspect of it intrigued me. I was introduced to family and immigration law cases, mediations and discoveries, and actual courtroom cases. At the courthouse, I finally found something I strongly identified with and enjoyed every part of, including the adrenaline rush, the ability to represent the people in my community, and the creativity involved with each distinct case. I decided to make a change to pursue law.
Through my educational and professional experiences, I have worked to develop and strengthen my writing, research, and analytical abilities. As an undergraduate, I majored in philosophy, which required intensive writing coursework and proficiency in abstract, critical thinking. My minor in business foundations provided me with background knowledge that has strengthened my understanding of the business world. For example, my coursework included foundations of accounting, finance, and business law, which focused on evaluating real world scenarios. Finally, through my legal internships I had the opportunity to apply these skills. which provided me with the practical experience needed to prepare me for the legal field.
My personal interests include weightlifting, Sudoku, do-it-yourself projects, drawing, and bullet journaling.
